Jim David test is the Market Applications Product Manager at PowerGEM, leading business development for the PowerGEM PROBE software. As Product Manager, specific responsibilities include defining specifications for new PROBE installations and applications, coordinating PROBE improvements and expansion, and consulting projects at existing PROBE clients. He has also worked on various technical and market consulting projects, provided PROBE training, and developed and taught market optimization courses. Specific areas of expertise include energy market design, market monitoring and analysis, and congestion analysis.
Prior to PowerGEM, Mr. David was with the Market Monitoring and Performance group at the New York ISO, where his primary responsibility was market analysis of the New York energy markets. In particular, he studied market-based transmission issues, including the potential for congestion based market power, the costs of congestion to the marketplace, and TCC revenues. Later, Mr. David accepted a Market Design Specialist position at NYISO, where he was responsible for evaluating existing and proposed market products and rules, reviewing market design alternatives, and monitoring environmental issues and fuel trends. Prior to NYISO, Mr. David worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation for eight years, in various planning and field supervision roles.
Jim David holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA from the University at Albany.
